On the basis of geological characteristics and the subsequent problems occurred during the developing process of Gudao Oilfield, the cause for the effects of its development by polymer flooding was analyzed in this paper. Simultaneously, the integral technology for better the effects of polymer flooding was studied. This integral technology will be much helpful in solving the related problems listed as follows: the loss of the viscosity of polymer solutions, the partial large holes or high-permeability belts that leads to the early production of the polymer, the productivity loss arising from the increasing resistance of polymer inside the stratum. The theological characteristics of the polymer solution was bettered with the laboratory study and field implementation on the viscosity stabilization and enhancement, anti-flee and polymer stopping technology; at the same time, the conditioning and sealing technology and PI policy were employed to ensure the corresponding technology of conditioning and sealing with granular plus frozen gel system. Besides, in the well group with high polymer concentration, the tests on conditioning and sealing technology were performed. During the early stage of polymer flooding, these assembly technologies can facilitate the formation of polymer plug and its even push. Also, in the early stage of water flooding after the end of polymer flooding stage, those technologies can effectively prevent the fleeing of the injected water, which subsequently protect the polymer plug underground, enlarge the sweeping volume of polymer solution, and played a positive effective role in improving the oil production by polymer flooding.
