The hydrocyclone is a kind of separatory and classificatory equipment. Because of its simply structure the hydrocylone finds application in more and more industries. Now, the main research measure is experimentation with real situation according to single factor, which cost more and is inefficient and can't match the industrial needs. This thesis aims at seeking a kind efficient research measure for study of the hydrocylone.FLUENT— a influential computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software is used to simulate the flow field of the hydrcyclone in this thesis. After selecting the mathematical modal exactly and defining the boundary condition accurately, this thesis simulates the flow field of the normal hydrcyclone, with water as medium. The correctness of the simulation result is checked up in according to the vortex and rotation flow theories and some testing result. On the basic of the simulation, the major parameters and the relationship of them in the whole flow field are exhibited and analyzed wholly. According to the simulation results and correlative theories, a viewpoint about the radial velocity of the hydrcyclone is presented and relative theoretic prove is presented.According to the simulation results, the thesis studies the "n", the hydrcyclone structural parameter, quantificationally and considers the n is a variable according to the cydrcyclone radius. The numerical value of the n is figured out under specifically condition. The influence of the medium viscidity to the hydrcyclone flow field is analyzed quantificationally, according to the simulation results of the mediums with different viscidity.According to the simulation results, the air core, the turbulency and loss of energy are analyzed.
