The rich areas of the natural gas storages mostly concentrate in the central and west of China, where the industry is undeveloped. On the contrary, the main consuming areas of natural gas are the costal provinces, where the industry is developed but the storage of natural gas is inadequate. It is necessary to take the pipes as the main form to send the natural gas from the central or western areas to the eastern costal are. In the sending process, if there were only the original pressure instead of adding pressure equipment, the transportation needs wouldn't be meted. Therefore, the natural gas pressure suit is needed to set up to guarantee the normal transportation. Another way is to transport the liquefied natural gas by ships or other vehicles for the sake of inconvenient of setting up pipes. No matter which way is adopted, the reliability of the natural gas compressor running will influence the final transportation of the natural gas. This present thesis analyzes the reliability of the natural gas compressor and touches upon the following aspects:Firstly, this thesis analyzes the forms of the fault of the piston compressor and the centrifugal compressor in details, including their working principles, failures causes and their fault phenomenon.Secondly, the thesis constructs the fault tree of the piston compressor and the centrifugal compressor, on which the qualitative analysis and quantitative calculation are made. In addition, it imports the fuzzy fault tree analysis, considerations of ending events correlations and reliability analysis methods into the analysis of natural gas processors.Thirdly, due to the complicatedness of the processor, the occurrence of its faults is randomly and arbitrarily, which can't be solved by the resolution. Thus, the author presents the methodsof estimating the reliability of natural gas by means of Monte Carlo simulation.In the end, based on the statements of the former part, the author write the NGCRA (natural gas compressor reliability analysis) software, which consists of two parts: (1) Processing part of failure data of the compressor; (2) reliability analysis of fault tree of the compressor by means of Visual++6.0.
