Due to the difference of gypsum resource ' reposition quantity and the developmening actualities of gypsum industry in different countries, the chief fields of application and use ratio of FGD gypsum is different also.The paper collects and analyses the actualities of gypsum industry in chief countries and regions in the world at present,as well as the chief fields of application.Because the applied research bengins as early as 1980' s in U.S.A, Canada, Europe and Japan, the fields of application have been gained development unceasingly. The fields of application of calcined FGD gypsum were gypsum wallboard,building plasters,self-leveling floor plaster,etc;The fields of application of uncalcined FGD-gypsum were cement, agricultural soil amendment, etc.Though construction materials of gypsum products possess many virtues of saving soil and energy resources reducing the weights of constructions, fireproofing, reducing noises and adjusting air indoor.the chief fields of application of nature gypsum is cement industry in China at present.The outputs, dosage and proportion of gypsum products .for example, gypsum wallboard, gypsum blocks, self leveling floor screed and rendering gypsum,is less.Comparison with developed countries, the gypsum industry of our country still has a long way to go. Along with spreading and actualizing of new type wall materials in our country, the quantity of gypsum that is applied to wall materials will rise, and the potential that FGD gypsum is applied in plasters, wallboard products is massive.FGD gypsum is by-product of limestone (lime)-gypsum Wet FGD. After analysing good applied foreground of FGD gypsum,the paper indicates the problems that will meet in using FGD gypsum,and puts forward synthetical measures in dealing with FGD gypsum.lt includes: stabilizing the outputs and quality of FGD gypsum in projecting and running FGD equipments;the problems and treatment measures that FGD gypsum is applied to cement retarder;establishing the standards of FGD gypsum that fits Chinese situation consulting criterions of FGD gypsum abroad as soon as possible;calculating the short amount of gypsum in some provines and regions in China and the feasibility of technology and economy about FGD gypsumus use;suggesting that our nation come on some policies that encourage coal-burning powerplants to install FGD equipments , put FGD gypsum to rational use, in order that it will further develop multiple use of FGD gypsum in China.
