With the penetration of applying computer technology in industries, it becomes more and more distinguishing to deal with complicated problems with computer. Because of the complicated technique and long process, it's more urgent for the computer simulation especially.Digestion is the key process of Bayer. It will be dominant to the later development of alumina production, if there's a way to reduce the energy consumption and waste. The paper has studiedtwo different digestion technique-two-stream digestion and one-stream digestion. The programis coded with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and uses the structured software developing method. With the input of initial data, calculated result will be got soon. The paper has discussed the following aspects in such a topic, such as scale thickness, equipment dimension, mass flow and material initial temperature. And it has been finally found the key of reducing the new-stream waste and the demanded melting-salt volume. As the comparison of the two technique, it is concluded there're both advantage and disadvantage between two-stream and one-stream digestion, as well as between melting-salt heating and new-steam heating method.In addition, the paper has studied the influence of A-S ratio and precipitation rate in Bayer process, digesting yield and carbonation rate in sinter process, and precipitation rate, digesting yield and carbonation rate in parallel-combined process on alumina-process product-ratio in each of them. With the comparison of such three processes, we've got some ideal results from them.It should be admitted that the calculated results agree with those of plant practice. So the Calculation System of Alumina Production (CASP) can be used to direct practical alumina production.As an excellent software, it's needed that the perfected performance model, beautiful appearance, simple operation modes and self-contained help system. Also, CASP is optimized in such four aspects, for example, put the energy balance calculation system into it, improved the welcome interface, sealed and packed the module, and registered the special module and DLLs to make sure the software can be successfully installed and ran in other operating system.
