The studies of the mechanisms of non-metal antiknock will play an important role in exploring new antiknock in the future, with non-metal antiknock being employed increasingly and metal antiknock being restricted. It is important that clarifying the mechanisms of antiknock has important effects on developing new antiknock. In this paper, The electron-transfer properties of o-toluidine and the effects of peroxide have been investigated with electrochemical technique, aiming at exploring the electrochemical method of the mechanism of antiknock and making sense of the property and the functional mechanism of antiknock, and providing theoretical basis for selecting components and finding the best proportion.We have investigated the electron-transfer properties of o-toluidine in 1 , 2-dichloroethane in different electrode with cyclic voltammetry. The research results indicate that o-toluidine has good electron transfer properties in platinum.gold and glassy carbon electrode. But in gold and glassy carbon electrode o-toluidine has more peaks, which can embody the whole electron transfer-properties of o-toluidine, due to the low price of glassy carbon electrode , we can select glassy carbon electrode as working electrode to investigate o-toluidine.The cation free radical of o-toluidine come into being benzidines by tail-tail coupling in 1, 2-dichloroethane, while it is different in alcohols from in 1, 2-dichloroethane.The cation free radical of o-toluidine can form benzidines and azobenzidines by tail-tail and head-head coupling because alcohols can act as electron acceptor.We have probed intothe electron-properties of o-toluidine in different proportion, the result indicated that when there are a few toluene ,2-dichloroethane,butyl acetate or perchloroethylene,it can manifest positive concocting effect and do good favor to eliminate peroxide with o-toluidine.We have explored the electron-transfer property of o-toluidine in TKC antiknock contribution, followed by the studying of the case that peroxide has effect on the electron-transfer property of o-toluidine. The research results show that o-toluidine can eliminate peroxide, and there is some relation between o-toluidine and TKC component. Toluene ,2-dichloroethane can eliminate much more peroxide in the same proportion.
