The gas pipe network in Chuan-Yu region has 35 main gas transportation lines more than 2500 kilometers long, and 265 stations, with the characteristic such as frequent changes of the gas source arrangement and much more in multiple line, lateral line, times constructed and pressure level as well, which is the most complicated regional annular pipe network. It is vital to operate and regulate this gas pipe network in scientific and reasonable way. The application of optimization techniques in operating gas pipe network in Chuan-Yu region was investigated in the thesis.In the thesis, the mechanistic model for the balance of pipe network system is developed by analysis of inlet and outlet of gas and the data of pipe sections in Chuan-Yu region gas pipe network, and the mathematical model for optimum operating the gas pipe network is developed with the maximum benefit and maximum flow as the objective function. Mathematical model is calculated with linear approximation method, general compound shape method and blend genetic anneal method.The optimum model and hydraulic model of the Chuan-yu natural gas network are established. Different optimum results of the model are used to accomplish the optimum calculation of the same object function and the comparison of the calculation. Different object functions are used to accomplish the optimum assay of the North mainline. The TGNET software has been used to modeling and calibration assay of several mainlines. It has also been used to accomplish the hydraulic attestation of the optimum calculation results.The research result shows that optimization techniques don't only play a support role for scientific decision of regulating and operating Chuan-Yu pipe network, but also is of practical value in the optimum operation and layout for gas pipe network.
