Diarylmethanes and their derivatives are important intermediates in much medical chemistry, especially for antiallergic drugs. Diarylmethanes and their derivatives also have good physibiological and pharmacological activities. The development of diarylmethanes medicines has wide applications value.In this paper, the synthesis and reactions of diarylmethanes and their derivatives, including: The first part was about synthesized diarylmethanes and studied on the reactions. Benzhydrylsulphinylacetamide derivatives were prepared by a novel method. The second part was about synthesized Benzhydrylsulphinylacetamide derivatives by a novel method. The third part was about synthesized of Cetirizine Hydrochloride.We prepared diarylmethanes by Friedel-Crafts (F-C) reaction , and synthesized some medical drugs by diarylmethanes. And we prepared benzhydrylsulphinylacetamide derivatives by a novel method. First, diarylketone were prepared by Friedel-Crafts (F-C) reaction. Then, diarylmethanols was synthesized from diarylketones by reduction of sodium borohydride. Synthesis diphenyl-methanethiol by diarylmethanols. A new route was employed to synthesize a known compound, diphenylmethanethiol-acetal was synthesized from diphenyl-methanethiol and chloroacetate .The route include three steps: etherification , ammoniation and then oxidation. Factors such as chloro-acetic acid ester, reaction temperature on process were studied. We found the ionic liquid and microwave irradiation promoted these reactions with high efficiency and high rate. Twenty-three products were obtained.The paper studied was about synthesis of Cetirizine Hydrochloride. Hydride sodium was used instead of potassium tertbutoxide. This process is simpler than that of reported previously. The affects of solvents were investigated in the reaction.
