This thesis takes the styrene waste gas as the research object, the biopurification performance of styrene, relative kinetic calculation model of Adsorption-Biofilm Theory verified and the biofilm micro-community were researched by using the biotrickling filter. The main results were shown as follows:(l)Using the microorganism that was developed by the item research team, to purify the styrene waste gas in low concentration, that is feasible in the biotrickling filter. The removal efficiency of styrene could attain 95% or so.(2)Gas inlet concentration, gas flow and liquid flow these facts had the remarkable effect to the purification efficiency of styrene. The experimental results showed: the first was brought by the gas flow, and the removal efficiency of styrene was decreased from 99.46% to 69.73% when the gas flow was increased from 0.2m~3/h to 0.6 m~3/h;the second was the gas inlet concentration, the removal efficiency of styrene could reach at 90% when the gas inlet concentration was below 1000 mg/m~3.(3)With the experimental data got from the biotrickling filter used in this study, the kinetic calculation model mentioned above was verified. According to the kinetic calculation model, the purification efficiency of styrene in off-gases, the concentration of styrene in effluent gas and the biological elimination of styrene were calculated respectively. A good suitability of the kinetic model for the biodegradation process of styrene in low concentration was verified. The verified results showed that the calculated data of kinetic model were close to the experimental data (the correlation coefficients of the purification efficiency is 0.97, of the concentration in effluent gas is 0.98, of the biological elimination is 0.99.(4)Using the Bacillus fusiformis to purify the styrene waste gas, the research showed the microorganism has good degradation capability to styrene. Compared some other research, the microorganism has certain advantage. The research result will play an important guidance role in the allied research and appliances.(5)For purifying the styrene waste gas (100~800 mg/m~3)in low concentration under the high inflow in the plastics factory, using the system that is viable. After further research and experiment, this research result hopes to realize the industry application.
