In this paper, we have prepared soft magnetic NiZn ferrite using sol-gel citrate auto-combustion method successfully.The content of this paper includes two parts. The first part is the preparation and analysis of ferrite powders. Thereinto the primary content is that NiZn ferrite nanocrystalline powders are synthesized by the sol-gel method combined with low temperature self-propagating combustion reaction. The raw materials were Ni(NO3)2.6H2O, Zn(NO3)2.6H2O, Fe(NO3)2.6H2O and citric acid. The influences of pH value of precursor solution on the gel's homogeneous character, as-burnt powders and the dosage citric acid were investigated by X-ray diffraction technique, gel's combustion process was investigated by infrared absorption spectra. The patterns of synthesized powders were investigated with the help of transmission electron microscopy observation. The influences of pH value of as-burnt powders on the specific saturation magnetization were investigated by vibrating sample magnetometer.The second part is preparation of high performance ferrite according to the requisite proportion using process flow optimized in the fist part. The primary content includes that the nano powders calcined at different temperatures were investigated by X-ray diffraction technique, initial permeability was tested by LCR testing instrument, saturation magnetic induction intensity, residual magnetization, coercive force were tested by BH analyzer. The patterns of the ferrite material after sintering were investigated with the help of scanning electron microscopy observation, density was investigated by the density testing instrument. The calcining temperature and sintering process were determined finally after above analysis. Then the main formula was studied with the varying of Fe2O3 and ZnO in the system of Fe2O3-NiO-ZnO, we have found best composition to our goal.The material we manufactured had the performance of FERRO 4B1.
