Compared with conventional surfactants, Gemini surfactants exhibit lower cmc value and higher surface activity, which make Gemini surfactants superior to the sole surfactant employed in EOR area at present. So Gemini surfactants have enormous application potential in EOR area. Base on researching literature, we develop the base study about Gemini surfactant is used for "EOR", by reseaching, hope that provide theory support and guidance.The results of Gemini surfactant synthesis and token indicatethat "one step method" may synthesize cationic Gemini surfactant IR and NMR method, approves the object product is synthesizedThe results of Gemini surfactant reduce IFT of oil/water indicate thatUnder different Gemini effecting, the character of dynamic IFT main include three kinds type: first, the time of maintaining IFT is long, second, the IFT can attain super lower, but the time is short, third, the IFT can not attain super lower, the number is 10-2 amount level. At the same time, have close relativity between dynamic IFT character and oil recovery.The results of Gemini surfactant are adsorbed on different solid surface indicate that the property of solid surface is main effect, the power on montmorillonite is higher than on quartz sand surface.this adsorption is realized by ion exchange.on the other hand, the adsorption form double deck on quartz sand and form monolayer on montmorillonite surface, in the next place, the structure of cationic surfactant and system condition also effect saturation adsorption power.The investigation results of the change of solid surface wettability caused by cationic Gemini surfactants indicated that cationic Gemini surfactants could convert oil wet surface into water wet surface, even into strong water wet surface. As for water wet surface, most of cationic Gemini surfactants could convert water wet surface into weak water wet surface, the ability of Gemini reduce contact angle is better than CTAB.
