The life of artillery barrel tube rifling drops seriously because of the ablation in the course of using, this will cause the artillery firing accuracy and the firing distance reduce. At present, the rifling chrome-plating technology was widely used to alleviates the rifling ablation in domestic and foreign. But another problem which the coating is easy to fall off in the using process appear, and it become an important technical difficult problem which restricts the tube life further enhances.In this essay, the non-shift plasma arc was used as heating source to strengthen the rifling covered with chrome-plating, to urges the transform by the mechanical bond condition to the metallurgy bound state, enhance the intension of the binding force between the plate and basic material ,and then the artillery barrel tube can be used longer.The strengthened sample's microscopic framework changed, the plating hardness drops, and the substrate hardness rise, the binding force rise by two times, coated anti-flaking to enhance above 30%, and the anti-attrition performance obtains the remarkable enhancement.The real-time monitoring system to the strengthening process was designed, and the clear pictures of the heated area were collected. Also, the picture processing software was designed too, through this program the pictures were processed, and the characteristic information which reflects the processed quality was got out and be quantified. The relationship between the characteristic information and actual metallurgy union width was calculated, and the relation between the actual metallurgy union width and the hot input was got out.
