The practical fields such as high speed optical communication, optical information processing and photoelectronics have been obtained the rapid development. As the key integrated optics component materials, the nonlinear optics (NLO) materials possess the widespread value. Organic nonlinear optical materials have been attracted much attention as the most prominent candidates for applications in different fields due to their advantages such as large nonlinearities, ultrafast response, high optical damage threshold, low dielectric, good processbility, integrability, etc.We summarized the nonlinear optics and the organic nonlinear optics material research progress in this paper. On this basis, the molecular two step non-linear coefficient would be increased to adapt the process of the component manufacture and the organic NLO molecule which contains new chromophores has been designed and synthesized by changing the chain length. The influence rule of the correlation factors has been discussed in details. The structures of the primary products have been characterized by 1H-NMR,IR and the ultimate analysis methods.The heat decomposition temperatures of two primary products, (2,2-dimethyl -3(4-diethylaminocinnamenyl)-4-cyano-5(dicyanomethylen)-2,5- dihydrofuran (II) and 4-dimethylamino-4'{[2,2-dimethyl-4-cyano-5(dicyanomethylen)-2,5dihydrofuran]-3- ethenyl}azobenzene(VII)), are 259.16℃and 247.64℃based on the TGA curves. The heat-resisting performances are excellent, and accord with the component's request.The primary product (II) possesses the quality parameter(μgβ),tested by through the method of solvatochromism (with a value of 6520×10-48esu). The nonlinearity of (II), tested by the method of EFISH (with a value of 6.46×10-9esu or 2.70pm/V). The computation and test result determined the organic nonlinear optics materials with this structure of tricyano-dihydro furan have good non-linear performance.
