| The reserves of boron resources which have been proven up in China are the fifth in the world. Most of them distribute in Liaoning, Qinghai, Tibet and so on, thereinto, the boron in Liaoning exists mainly in the form of szaibelyite. After being exploited for decades, the reserves of boron in Liaoning reduce sharply. However, the boron resources in western area exist mainly in the form of liquid ore, especially in saline brine. Nowadays, the technology of exploiting boron from saline brine is very poor.In this paper it presented the properties, resources, applications and preparations of boron. The process and mechanism of boron acid which be extracted or reextracted by extraction method in aqueous solutions are researched. Extracting boron from the brine of Dongtaijinaier lake which have been extracted lithium. This paper aims at finding an effective method to extract boron from saline brine. It is proved that acidization is not appropriate for extracting boron from such brine. For the boron content of such brine is very low, it can not meet the requirements of acidization. So, from industry, studied to extract boron from such brine.Taking iso-Octyl alcohol, iso-Amylalcohol, 2-Ethyl-1,3-hexanediol, 2-Butyl-2-ethyl-1,3-hexanediol as respecti- vely, extract boron from saline brine, and the extraction experiments were carried out, and the optimal parameters were obtained. The results showed as the following:1. Iso-Octyl alcohol pH of brine is 2, concentration of extractant is 50%, phase ratio(O/A) is 1:1, extraction times is 3. The stripping agent is distilled water, reextraction phase ratio is 1:1, reextraction times is 3.2. 2-Ethyl-1,3-hexanediol pH of brine is 3, concentration of extractent is 20%, phase ratio(O/A) is 1:2, extraction times is 2. The stripping agent is 0.5mol·L-1 NaOH, reextraction phase ratio is 1:1, reextraction times is 2.3. 2-Butyl-2-ethyl-1,3-hexanediol pH of brine is 3, concentration of extractant is 0.2mol·L-1, phase ratio(O/A) is 1:2, extraction times is 2. The stripping agent is 0.3mol·L-1 NaOH, reextraction phase ratio is 1:1.It has been proven that the mixed system of 2-Ethyl-1,3-hexanediol, iso-Octyl alcohol and sulfonated kerosine is the best boron extractant, and the mixture has theapplication prospect. The boron extraction mechanism was analyzed and the type of the products was also discussed in this paper. |
