Aluminum electromagnetic roll casting is a high and new technology with high efficiency and less energy-consuming. Aluminum crystal is refined and casting-rolling strip's performance is improved by introducing special electromagnetic field into continuous casting-rolling zone to change solidification and crystallization condition for molten aluminum. Roll casting special power supply control system is the key technology to realize aluminum electromagnetic roll casting technology and this program belong to Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China (863 Program)- high performance aluminum sheet by aluminum electromagnetic rapid roll casting. In this paper, some key technologies are researched, such as complex magnetic field of roll casting area of electromagnetic rapid roll casting, design of control system, modeling and simulation of frequency conversion control system, experiments on control system and magnetic field of inductor.Firstly, this paper analyzes the complex magnetic field of roll casting area of electromagnetic rapid roll casting, mainly about special demand of control system and magnetic field that electromagnetic rapid roll casting ask, and formation principle of complex magnetic field.Secondly, because of particular structure of electromagnetic induction set, an improved main circuit which based on cycloconverter is adopted and circulation problem is solved radically.Thirdly, for the characteristic of difficulty in establishing accurate mathematics model to inductor, a novel method of construction & simulation is put forward in this paper for inverter system based on Matlab Simulink & Power System Block set. The result of simulation show this new mind of main circuit can satisfy the demand of current for the inductor of electromagnetic roll-casting and it decreases the content of harmonics, and it makes the design of control system easier in practical application. It is helpful to mixture of magnetic motive force and stronger electromagnetic force is produced.Fourthly, experiments for the performance of whole control system are performed. Experiment results show that research and design of aluminum electromagnetic casting-rolling special power supply control system achieves expected purpose and obtains ideal load current waveform. In addition, magnetic flux density of complex magnetic field in inductor is tested and the distribution rules of complex magnetic field are discussed.The research in this paper is provided a new method to the research and design for aluminum electromagnetic roll casting system and the period of developing motorcycles should be reduced. It is also helpful for discussing the distribution rules of magnetic flux density in roll casting area. The success is beneficial to development of aluminum electromagnetic casting-rolling technology and advanced research of improving aluminum products.
