Dioctyl dicarboxylate can be used as PVC plasticizer, which has good bears to thelow temperature. It can take the place of dioctyl adipate(DOA) and dioctyl sebacate(DOS),and the materials also have the effect on preventing the superficialstatic electricityagglomeration. In this paper, we took a systemic study on esterification reaction of dicarboxylic acidwith isooctanol. Via the characterization of raw materials qualitative and quantitative anal-lysis, we designed and prepared a range of catalysts which contain zeolite, solid superacidand solid acid, and established a comprehensive evaluation system including theesterification reaction conversion rateand, esterification product examination analysis andthe catalystresponse performance research technique, obtained the optimal reactionconditions of mixed dicarboxylic acid with isooctanol (butanol). We also studied product'soperational performance. The experiment indicates that, the optimal reaction conditions of solid superacidcatalysis synthesis dioctyl dicarboxylate are that reaction temperature is about from 160℃to 220℃and the reaction time is 4h, the ratio of materials is 1:3.4, the amounts of catalystis 0.30g, and the conversion rate is 99.91%. The optimal reaction conditions of sodiumbisulfate catalysis synthesis dioctyl dicarboxylate are that the reaction time is 1.5h andreaction temperature is about from 108℃to 154℃, the ratio of materials is 1:3.0, theamounts of dimethylbenzene is 15ml, the amounts of sodium bisulfate is 0.50g, and theconversion rate is 99.93%.The product is characterized by MS. Simultaneity, the physicalproperties of target product is measured by boiling point, acid value, ester content and soon.
