This paper deals with optimal selection of the flue gas desulphurization (FGD)process and economic analysis of the elected process for Xinhai power plant.The early investment, operation and support expenses of FGD engineering arevery high. To some extent, the high expenses hold up the application of FGD engineeringin fired power plant, therefore, the selection of FGD process and economic analysisof the selected process become significant.Based on surveys of the status quo of application of the optimal selection of FGD,comparison of the application of several evaluation methods, as well as practicalapplication, the paper arrives at the conclusion that the fuzzy analytic hierarchyprocess is the most suitable one for current fired power plant to select FGDprocess.In order to establish the evaluation index for FGD process, the paper analysesthe requirement and condition of the FGD engineering of Xinhai power plant. Afterthe optimal selection of the FGD engineering of 5 FGD processes at the help offuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the limestone—gypsum method isfounded out to be the practical one for the plant. To obtain the economic index, aneconomic analysis of the application of limestone—gypsum method in FGDis made.Finally, the paper concludes the adoptions of this process is feasible, gives somesuggestion for concrete execration of FGD engineering.
