The synthesization technology of monodisperse polymer micro-spheres which are used inconductive micro-sphere was studied and optimized. Monodisperse seeds were prepared bydispersion polymerization and monodisperse polymer micro-spheres were prepared byseeded polymerization method. We can prepare monodisperse polymer micro-spheres ofdifferent surface, crosslinking, rigidity, size, surface function and so on by controlling theparameters. The microspheres were pretreated with palladium nuclei solution to createcatalytic on the surface. Micron-sized polymer particles were coated with layers of nickelcompounds by Electroless Chemical Deposition. The composite micro-sphere was coatedwith layers of pure gold by Electroless Chemical Deposition. Different conditions whichaffect the structure and performance of the synthesized particles were studied andcharacterized by FTIR, XPS, XRD, TEM and SEM. From morphological observation, theresult showed that the diameter of the micro-sized polymer particles which were preparedby seeded polymerization method was about 6 microns. It also showed that themonodisperse conductive micro-spheres had compact structure and the layer was about 0.5microns. The coefficient of variationĪµis about 0.025. It confirmed that the compositeparticles can be used in anisotropic conductive film.
