Since first free N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) was isolated by Ardengo in 1991,the study of N-heterocyclic carbene metal complexes has had a fast development. This kind of carbene complexes of all metal in periodical table have been reported.Researchers discovered that catalytic activities of N-heterocyclic carbene metalcomplexes in some reactions are better than those of phosphine-metal complexes, and they exhibit better stability to heat, water and air in comparison withphosphine-metal complexes. Therefore this field has become a hot point of organicchemistry in the recent years.Photophysical behavior of N-heterocyclic carbene metal complexes is notexplored yet. In order to expand their applicable range, anthracene or naphthalenegroups were introduced to the precursors of this kind of carbenes, like1-(9-anthracenylmethyl)-3-alkylbenzimidazolium chlorides. We have studied the syntheses, crystal structures and flourescent properties ofbelow some N-heterocyclic carbene silver-and mercury-complexes with anthracenechromophore. ##原图像无英文摘要内容...
