It has gradually been an important method in the metal forming to studythe plastic process by FEM. The tube rifling precision-forging belongs tothe radial forging. In domestic, there are some problems needing to beresolved in the productions of the tube, such as determination to processparameter, enlarge the application and improve the quality of products.Therefore it is necessary to use the 3D rigid viscoplastic finite elementsoftware-Deform3D to simulate the rifling precision-forging.Based on the theories of 3D rigid viscoplastic FEM, this paper puttedforward a studying plan to resolve the technological problems of the tuberifling precision -forging process by Deform3D. Applying Deform3D to simulatethe forging process of the tube which is produced in factory, this researchrevealed metal deformation during the forging and got a lot of informationconcerned with mesh distortion, velocity field, effective stress field,effective strain field and load-stroke curve. Furthermore, the optimized diesstructure and a set of reasonable parameters of the radial forging equipmentare obtained according to these simulation results.After comparing the results of the simulation and experimental ones,the research shows that in virtue of the 3D rigid viscoplastic FEM situationsoftware Deform3D can be used in the analyzing the forging process and thesimulation results agree good with the experimental ones.Therefore thesimulation can obtain the optimizing process parameters and provide valuablereference for the practical production and design.
