The tailings as a production of the ore resource selection not only engross a great deal of the soil, but also pollute of the environment. So it has important strategic sense for promoting the realization of our country 21 century's magnificent object through developing the research of the tailings utilization thoroughly, and spreading the tailings utilization techniques in some sections producing the tailings, and making it become one of the supporting industries in the mining departments.The test research in this paper takes the tailings produced in Baoding Hebei province as material for carrying through the tailings resource treatment. This style of the ore belongs to the silicoide deposit, whose major metal mineral is magnetite with a small quantity of pyrite and sphalerite, and the matrix minerals are mostly quartz and carbonate, which is distinctly different from an-shan iron ore. Through microscope and elecmirror scan, sphalerite is contacted with the matrix, which can be divided by grinding. For increasing the flotation effect, condition test is put through which includes grinding fine, lime dosage, bluestone dosage,for-xanthogenate dosage. The ultramate condition is grinding fine–200目60%,bluestone 140g/t,for-xanthogenate 80g/t.The test result shows that the grade of the zinc concentrate isn't ideal. According to the scene review and the theoretic analysis, the tailings mix-flotation is put forward, which not only increase the zinc grade of the raw ore, but also save the investment ,and the index of the flotation is comparatively high(Zn≥50%).This test result indicates that the method has distinct economical benefit and environmental benefit.The tailings after the selection are used to make brick research. In order to increase the brick capability, some materials need adding. According the condition test, the ultimate parameters are suffer sand 25%,cement 10%,water 12%,the admixture 3%(accounting for 3% of the dosage of the cement).The every index and radioactivity of the tailing brick utilizing this condition can attain some relate criteria of architecture materials. Through economical estimate, it has preferable economical benefit, and can make industry production. Then the researches on other appliance facets are carried through such as aerated concrete, cement complement, craftwork keramics and so on. If the mine can take different methods to utilize the tailings according to the actual conditions, it can attain non-tailing production or comprehensive utilization, which has definite utility value and environmental protection meaning.
