In this dissertation seven novel coordination complexes have been designed and synthesized, and the seven complexes include the three-dimensional Ag(I) coordination polymer, [Ag(μ-L)(μ-NO3)]n (1) with (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether and nitrate anion as mixed bridge ligands ; three-dimensional Zn(II) coordination polymer [Zn(μ-L)(μ-N3)2]n (2) with (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether and azide anion as mixed bridge ligands ; three-dimensional Mn(II) coordination polymer [Mn(μ-L)(μ-N3)2]n (3) with (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether and azide as mixed bridge ligands ; two-dimensional Cu(II) coordination polymer [Cu2L4(ClO4)4 (H2O)2]n (4) with (pyridyl-2)(pyrazinyl-2)ether as bride ligand and perchlorate anion as terminal ligand; two-dimensional Co(II) coordination polymer[Co(μ-L)2(NCS)2]n (5) with (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether as bridge ligand and thiocyanate anion as terminal ligand ; mono-nuclear Cu(II) complex [CuL2(OAC)2(H2O)]n (6) with (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether, acetate and water molecule as ligands and mono-nuclear Mn(II) complex[MnL4(NCS)2]n (7) with (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether and thiocyanate as ligand. The seven complexes were characterized with infrared spectra, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallographic analysis. The studies on structural specialties for the seven complexes were made, and especially complex (1) exhibits the distinguished structure of–Ag+-Ag+- one-dimensional chain, which suggests good electric conductivity and novel model in cluster chemistry. Complex (2) and (3) display novel structures with mixed bridged model. In addition, thermogravimetry was made on complexes (2),(5) and (7).The special advantages and contributions of this dissertation are as follows.1. A distinguished three-dimensional Ag(I) complex has been synthesized with (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether and nitrate anion as mixed bridge ligands, and the distinguished structure of–Ag+-Ag+- one-dimensional chain suggests that it may display good electric conductivity.2. A new multi-dentate (pyridyl-3)(pyrazinyl-2)ether has been designed and a series of complexes with it as bridge ligand and terminal ligand have been synthesized.The results of this dissertation will benefit the synthesis of ideal molecular conductor and it also benefits design and synthesis of novel clusters. The results of this dissertation also will benefit the synthesis of novel complexes with mixed bridge ligands.
