The task is supported by the education committee of Hebei province. The purpose is that the 20MnSi bar is made from second grade to Britain-standard third grade through controlled cooling. Contrasted microalloyed third grade bar, it not only has higher technology content, but also society profit and economic profit.Presently, the research is limited to the experiential stage yet. This method need long period of time and much money, and the eligibility rate, especially bigger standard bar, is low.As we know, if the kind of steel is unchanged, the performance attributes to the inner structure. In the paper, in order to gets Britain-standard third grade bar, we calculate the temperature field of controlled-cooling bar by ANSYS common element software, and then get the structure field. By controlling different cooling process parameter we predict the different structure field, and then direct the factory to stable produce qualified Britain-standard third grade bar.The following is the conclusions we get1. By applying finite element method we get the temperature field during cooling period of the different spec of 20MnSi bar. The results agree with the test value.2. The heat transfer coefficient modal is developed for fitted the site cooling equipment. The calculated results agree with the test value.3. Through the computer simulation of structure filed on super-cooling austenite phase changing, the distribution of changed structure content on bar section is obtained, the final and the best changed structure content is gained.
