The enamel has been used as coating materials on metals for hundreds of years, it has being widely used in the industry. However, when Al-Zn Alloy Coated steel has being manufactured largely, there has no report about the study of enamel on Al-Zn alloy Coated steel.Firstly, with a low price, Al-Zn Alloy Coated steel has being used widely as functional materials in the fields of electric equipment, mobile, architecture and so on. Secondly, Al-Zn Alloy Coated steel used in many fields need enamel to meet special performances. Thereby, developing new kind of enamel to Al-Zn Alloy Coated steel could meet the need from market. In addition, the enamel to Al-Zn Alloy Coated steel can be fired at temperature below 600℃,which will reduce energy sources consumption, prolong the life of furnace, and avoid the distortion of enamel product.After the study of Al-Zn Alloy Coated steel and enamel, the enamel to Al-Zn alloy coated steel and relevant firing technology have been designed, the porcelain enamel samples have been prepared and tested, the adhesion between Al-Zn alloy and enamel layer has been investigated.It has been discovered by the study that the enamel with SiO2-TiO2-R2O system can be fired at the temperature 550℃, and the porcelain enamel has good surface.It has been discovered that the enamel meet the physical and chemical requirement, by acid-resistant test and alkali-resistant test for porcelain enamel samples. Relevant mechanism has been investigated.It has been discovered that there are substantive TiO2 crystals of anatase in the enamel layer, which make the porcelain enamel obtain good surface.The adherence mechanism has been investigated by the adherence strength test. The microstructure and element distribution at the interface between Al-Zn alloy and enamel layer have been investigated by metallic graph, scanning electron microscope and energy spectrum analysis. The results show that the enamels have a good adherence strength through an interlayer, which is developed at the interface by the inter-diffusion between Al-Zn alloy elements and enamel elements . The adhesion between Al-Zn alloy and the inter-layer is resulted from the metallic bond , and the adhesion between the enamel and the interlayer is brought about by the ionic bond and covalent bond.
