(1). Self-assembly, structure and characterization of suparmolecular complexes based on phenylmalonic acidEight complexes based on the flexible phenylmalonic acid ligand were synthesized in the presence of N-containing ligands: 1 [Pb2(Phmal)2],2 [Cd(Phmal)(H2O)],3 [Co2(Phmal)2(Adenine)2(H2O)2]·5H2O,4 [Zn2(Phmal)2(Adenine)2(H2O)2]·4H2O,5 [Zn2(Phmal)2(Pz)2(H2O)2],6 [Co(Phmal)(Pz)(H2O)],7 [Pb2(Phmal)2(Pz)],8 [Pb2(Phmal)2(4,4'-bipy)0.5]. The influence about the molar ratio of H2phmal:NaOH and the kind of solvent on the single-crystal growth have been considered. Complexes 1,2,5,6 and 7 exhibit 2D layered structure assembled through intermolecular force, while 3 and 4 are binuclear complexes which are further assembled into 3D ordered structure through hydrogen bonds andπ-πstacking interactions. 8 shows 3D metal– organic framework structure. They were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TG), UV-vis spectra, x-ray analysis and solid state photoluminescence spectra.(2). Self-assembly, structure and characterization of suparmolecular complexes based on 4-methyl-3-sulfobenzoic acidSix complexes based on the 4-methyl-3-sulfobenzoic acid, 9 [Mn(Phen)2(H2O)2]·msba·3H2O,10 [Mn(Phen) (H2O)4]·msba·Phen·3H2O,11 [Zn(2,2'-bipy)(msba)(H2O)2]·H2O,12 [Pb(2,2'-bipy)(msba)(H2O)]·H2O,13 [Pb2(phen)2(msba)2(H2O)2],14 [Zn(4,4'-bipy)(H2O)4]·msba·5H2O, were synthesized and characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TG), x-ray analysis and solid state photoluminescence spectra. The mononuclear complexes 9 and 10 were further assembled into 3D ordered structure through hydrogen bonds andπ-πstacking interactions. The 1D complexes 11 and 14 as well as the 2D complexes 12 and 13 were further assembled into 3D ordered structure. (3). Self-assembly, structure and characterization of suparmolecular complexes based on 2-tetrazol-acetic acidOne Pb2+ complex, 15 [Pb(Tlac)Cl], was synthesized by using flexible 2-tetrazol-acetic ligand in the presence of Cl- and characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TG), x-ray analysis and solid state photoluminescence spectra. This complex exhibits a 3D ordered structure. The novel weak Cl…O contact in the complex further stabilizes the structure.
