Along with the development of the economy and the improvement of the domestic living level, people pay more and more attention to the interior environment. Rice straw board is a kind of non-wooden panel with zero-formaldehyde. Rice straw board is a kind of excellent"green"material in furniture manufacturing. This can make more efficient use of resources, keep environmental pollution to a minimum. And conforms to the development tendency of furniture in the 21st Century, makes for realizing sustainable development of furniture industry. This paper makes an experiment study on veneering technique and dimensional stability of the panels. The experiment takes rice straw board as base material, veneer, PVC membrane and melamine-impregnated paper as surface decorative material, interfacial bonding strength as research idex, to study the optimized veneering technics. Taking LE and TS as research idex, to study dimensional stability of rice straw board by its density and thickness, veneering, sealing, finshing and painting water-repellent additive.The results of the experiments of veneering technique discovered that,(1) Sanding the rice straw board with 180# sand paper 4 times. The surface roughness is well.(2) When rice straw board as base material and white oak, fraxinus mandshurica, PVC membrane, melamine-impregnated paper as surface decorative material, their interfacial bonding strength are up to the mustard GB/T 15104-94.(3) When rice straw board as base material and white oak as surface decorative material, the optimal conditions are as follow: glue spreading amount-100g/m2, cold-pressing pressure-0.6MPa, cold-pressing time-2h. glue spreading amount-100g/m2, hot-pressing pressure-0.8MPa, hot-pressing temperature-90℃, hot-pressing time-240s with PVAc; glue spreading amount-100g/m2, hot-pressing pressure-0.7MPa, hot-pressing temperature-90℃, hot-pressing time-180s with GB-3.(4) When rice straw board as base material and white oak as surface decorative material, the influencing factors of interfacial bonding strength are: hot-pressing pressure> hot-pressing time> hot-pressing temperature.(5) When rice straw board as base material and fraxinus mandshurica as surface decorative material, the optimal conditions are as follow: glue spreading amount-100g/m2, hot-pressing pressure-0.7MPa, hot-pressing temperature-100℃, hot-pressing time-120s with PVAc; glue spreading amount-100g/m2, hot-pressing pressure-0.8MPa, hot-pressing temperature-90℃, hot-pressing time-180s with GB-3. (6) When rice straw board as base material and white oak as surface decorative material, the influencing factors of interfacial bonding strength are: hot-pressing time>hot-pressing pressure> hot-pressing temperature.(7)When rice straw board as base material and PVC membrane as surface decorative material, the optimal conditions are as follow: cold-pressing pressure-0.6MPa, cold-pressing time-4h.The results of the experiments of dimensional stability discovered that,(1) The LE and TS of rice straw board all augment by density increasing.(2) There is no direct influence on dimensional stability of rice straw board by thickness.(3) Veneering with PVC is a kind of effective process means to improving dimensional stability of panel.(4) The dimensional stability of rice straw board will get worse if the edges are not sealed.(5) Veneering (Edge cutting) is superior to Finshing and painting water-repellent additive, considering L and T of rice straw board.(6) Although wax emulsion can prove dimensional stability, effect is not obvious when painting rice straw board with water-repellent additive. Appropriative water-repellent additive of hard board is recommended.
