The arsenic is the top sensitive chemical element in the environment which can lead danger to the ecosystem environment and the human body.Exposing in the high arsenic environment can cause chronic arsenic poisoned that have already got the extensive concern in the world.It was reported more endemic arsenism in the southwest of Guizhou province.And in recent years,it has found several hundred cases of arsenic in southern of Shan'xi.This region is the second area of coal burning-born endemic arsenism.The endemic arsenism of Shan'xi was investigated at the phase of the epidemiology,which didn't do as far as endemic arsenism of Guizhou province.In this paper,the research covers 5 natural villages for the content of the arsenic in stone-coal,the modes of occurrence of arsenic in coal,release regulation of arsenic in coal at lab and locale,distributed characteristic of arsenic in environment.It would like to provide some information for the deeply understanding of coal burning-born endemic arsenism in Shan'xi.The main conclusions are:(1) Compared with the other research,the content of stone-coal is 117.82 mgs/kg,which is as same as Tang Wancheng'data and lower than that of Hu Yunsen' and south west.The content of arsenic in stone-coal is higher than that the value of 35 mgs/kg which can cause the scope of arsenic poisoned.(2) The modes of occurrence of arsenic in stone-coal of Shan'xi south is mainly combined by sulphide,which more than 75%in high arsenic stone-coal.The residue occurrence in low arsenic stone-coal is more than that in high arsenic stone-coal.There is positive correlation between arsenic and the Fe,Co,V,and negative correlation between arsenic and Ca,Sr.(3)The result of arsenic releasing at spot test is,after adding stone-coal,the arsenic content in the air reaches the maximum value after 3 hours.The content of dust,SO2,arsenic in the open air is lower than that in the indoor air.The content of dust,SO2,arsenic in roasted room is higher than that in others places,and the content of dust,SO2,arsenic in the bedroom are lowest.In the air,there is no relativity between arsenic and dust,SO2,but Dust, SO2 show relativity,r=0.722.(4) The releasing rate of arcenic in four villages is equally 46.81%,the Tianxing village's rate is highest,and the Jinping village's rate is lowest.The correlation between residue occurrence of arsenic and release of arsenic is negative,r=0.722.(5) The arsenic in the indoor air in four diseased villages exceeds the nation standard(3μg/m3),and that in the Changshapu is the highest.The content of arsenic in radish, murphy and the cabbage are lower than that of nation standard(0.5 mg/kg).Except the content of arsenic in corn in Jinping village,the others is lower than that of nation standard(0.7 mg/kg).The content of arsenic in Pepper in Tianxing and Jinping village exceeds the national standard(0.5 mg/kg).(6) The dissolved rate of arsenic in cinder is higher than that in coal by TCLP(Toxicity characteristic leaching procedure),as same as the case between coal of Guizhou and Shan'xi.Dissolved rate and dissolved occurrence of arcenic presents correlation r=0.983, P<0.05.Dissolved rate and sulphide occurrence also show positive correlationt r=0.796, P<0.05.
