At present, the micro-end solid cemented carbide mill is widely applied in the area of high-speed machining, especially in the area of the precision components and precision mould industry. It is difficult to guarantee the quality of machining in the high-speed machining with micro-end mill, and the non-normal breakage problems of micro-end mill are particularly serious.The related problems were studied in the paper. Effective guarantee was provided for improving surface quality and cutting efficiency, reducing the damage of tool.According to the influencing factors of the roughness and milling force, the orthogonal experiment of four factors and three levels was designed. The rules of the surface roughness under different cutting parameters were studied. The results show that the surface roughness reduces along with the enhancement of cutting speed, increases with the enhancement of feeding amount of each tooth and the radical depth of cutting, the surface roughness increases after a reduce process with the enhancement of the axial depth of cutting.Analyzed the status about the cutting force model, a high-speed machining empirical milling force formula for high-speed milling of 45~# steel was established based on the results of milling experiment. The stress and deformation of micro-end mill under the cutting force was analyzed with ANSYS, the effective method to analyze the deformation and stress of the high-speed machining with micro-end mill was provided. And the rules of the stress and deformation under different cutting parameters were studied. The results show that the cutter corner will be invalidated at first. In all cutting parameters, the cutting speed mostly affected the cutting force. By improving cutting speed, the deformation and stress will be reduced. Ensuring mill in safe, the effective way to gain maximum metal removal rate and meet quality requirement was provided.
