In order to control aerosol pollution effectively and improve our living quality, superabsorbent polymer (SAP) was used to advance aerosol sedimentation rate. The influence factors were investigated during the control aerosol pollution, such as concentration and dosage. The results show that the sedimentation time declines to 45% of the nature sedimentation, with the concentration is 0.2g/L, the dosage is 90ml.By modifying the dense of the hydrophilic groups of the superabsorbents and reutilizing wast polystyrene foam, superabsorbent composites have been synthesized from partially neutralized acrylic acid, waste polystyrene foam and sodium type montmorillonite powder. Based on its rigid and hydrophobic polystyrene chain, this superabsorbent polymer agent exhibits an excellent property during aerosol sedimentation. The sedimentation time declines to 15% of the nature sedimentation availably.Dextrin, which behave well adhesive capability, have been widely used in pharmic embedding. A novel superabsorbent nanocomposite was synthesized through intercalation polymerization from partially neutralized acrylic acid, gelatinized dextrin and an organic-montmorillonite powder. Effects of the amount of them on water absorbency of the superabsorbent were investigated. The structure and the morphology of the nanocomposite was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and Transmitting electron microscopy analysis. The blood compatibility of the composite was measured. The results show that the acrylic acid monomer was successfully intercalated into the organic-montmorillonite layers and bonded with them, the nanocomposite exhibit favorable blood compatibility.Also, dextrin-g-acrylic acid superabsorbent polymer was utilized in aerosol sedimentation. The results show that the solution of the dextrin-graft-acrylic acid composite is more suitable for sedimentating smoke aerosol, comparing to dextrin-graft-acrylic acid/organic-montmorillonite superabsorbent nanocomposite. The sedimentation time declines to 19.7% of the natural sedimentation time with right structure, while the concentration and amount of aerosol agent are 0.2g/L and 90mL.Chitosan has been reported previously that superabsorbent from chitosan has antibacterial activities and could be used in infant diapers, feminine hygiene pro ducts, and other special fields. Chitosan-graft-acrylic acid superabsorbent polymer was synthesized and utilized in aerosol sedimentation. The results show that the solution of the chitosan-graft-acrylic acid composite is more effective for sedimentating smoke aerosol than chitosan-graft-acrylic acid/montmorillonite composite. And the sedimentation time declines to 23% of the natural sedimentation time, while the concentration and amount of aerosol agent are 0.2g/L and 90mL.
