In this paper,2,2,4-Trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol diisobutyrate was synthesied by a new method,using isobutyraldehyde as the main material.At first,In the presence of aqueous sodium hydroxide as catalyst,2,2,4-Trimethyl -1,3-pentanediol(TMPD)was prepared by utilizing the method of Isobutyraldehyde Condensation and cross Cannizzaro reaction.After separation and purification of the product,the yield of the product obtained was 63.1%;We tried different catalysts for the synthesis of 2,4-diisopropyl-5,5-dimethylmetadioxan, and found the HY was the best one,which had the properties of steady,environment friendly and high catalytic behaviors.In the presence of HY,TMPD reacted with isobutyraldehyde by the aldol Condensation,the yield of product was 94.2%;Finally,target product TXIB was prepared by the reaction of 2,4-diisopropyl-5,5-dimethylmetadioxan and isobutyric acid.The mothod of blowing air was used to get rid of water and then to improve the yields of products,which was 73.1%.Different influent factors of processes such as the the ratio of raw material,reaction time,temperature and different solvents were discussed,and the best reaction conditions were chosen.Meanwhile the products were characterized by IR,~1HNMR and MS technics.
