It had good economic benefit, social benefit andenvironmental protection benefit.In this paper,2,2,4-Trimethyl-1,3-Penianediol diisobutyrate wassynthesized by a new method with using isobutyraldehyde as the main material. Atfirst,2,2,4-Trimethyl-1,3-Penianediol(TMPD) was synthesized by aqueous sodiumhydroxid, using isobutyraldehyde as the main material. Then we usedisobutyraldehyde and2,2,4-Trimethyl-1,3-Penianediol(TMPD) as the material tosynthesize2,4-diisopropyl-5,5-dimethylmetadioxan and found p-toluene sulfonicacid as the catalyst. At last, We tried different catalysts for the synthesis of2,2,4-Trimethyl-1,3-Penianediol diisobutyrate by using isobutyric acid and2,4-diisopropyl-5,5-dimethylmetadioxan as the material. We found the HY zeolite, ithad good stability and catalytic effect, it was environmentally friendly.In this paper, the2,4-diisopropyl-5,5-dimethylmetadioxan was studied bymany elements. The effects of ratio of reactants, catalyst, reaction time, solvent,reaction temperature and dosage of catalyst were investigated. Optimum reactionconditions were:n(isobutyraldehyde):n(TMPD)=2:1, catalyst0.20g, catalyst wasp-toluenesulfonic acid, reaction time2.5h and reaction temperature115to120℃,methylbenzene solvent10ml. Under the conditions, the conversion of TMPD andselectivity to green oxane was94.4%and99.8%, respectively. At last, we studiedthe effort of different elements to compound TXIB, the qualitative analysis for theproduct was analyzed. Optimum reaction conditions were:n(2,4-diisopropyl-5,5-dimethylmetadioxan):n(isobutyricacid)=1:3.2,catalyst0.25g, reaction time5h, reaction temperature150℃, stirring rate350r/min, catalyst particle size800nm, catalyst calcination temperature450℃.Under the conditions, the conversion of green oxane selectivity to TXIB was83.9%and98.1%.
