This paper is devoted to improve the performances of gun propellant combustion property by reducing pressure exponent. The method is to choose some different catalysts added in TG gun propellant, and then the influence of the different catalysts on the TEGDN gun propellant combustion properties was studied with the method of the volume closed bomb to test respectively.The results showed that in all of 20 various combust catalysts, only such as nickel oxalate can reduce the gun propellant pressure Index obviously. The effect of the nickel oxalate catalytic action on the TEGDN gun propellant depends on quantity of it. The experiment also showed that there was no significant effect on the TEGDN gun propellant combustion time and energy with the combustion catalyst of nickel oxalate.To make catalysts well disperse in the gun propellant, achieving the consistency and reproducibility of gun propellant burning, the job was studied from two aspects. On the one hand, on the basis of the traditional half-dissolved law, a new techniques was studied, on the one other hand, starting with this experiment from the formula, the liquid catalysts and nano-catalyst were selected to add in the TEGDN gun propellant, also dispersant was add in TEGDN gun propellant with nickel oxalate. The results showed that this method has certain feasibility.
