The nitrile rubber(NBR)/polyvinyl chloride(PVC) /organic montmorillonite (OMMT) nanocomposites were prepared by two-roll compounding.Through X-ray diffraction(XRD) testing,transmission electron microscopy(TEM) observation and other ways,based on the relationship between structure and properties,the species and content of OMMT and the preparation methods were investigated to discuss the effect on the mechanical properties,solvent resistance,and thermostability of polymer/OMMT nanocomposites,etc.The main contents are summarized as follows:1.0MMT reinforced NBR/PVC composites which had a majority of rubber.By studying overall performance of 4 NBR/PVC/OMMT composites,the best kind was 1#OMMT.and composites were successfully investigated with OMMT,the desired content,best sequence and reinforcing effect.when the loadings of OMMT was 3.0 phr,the tensile strength of NBR/PVC/OMMT nanocomposite improved60.34%,tear strength improved 28.49%,moreover the oil permeation was also enhanced.TEM and XRD observation confirmed the preparation of exfoliation NR/OMMT nanocomposites.After 3.0 phr OMMT was added to the carrying cincture rubber formulation instead of the same carbon black,the performance improve significantly.10 phr common calcium instead of the same carbon black,it would reduce the costs and keep the performance of the materials.2.OMMT could improve the toughness of NBR/PVC composites which had a majority of plastic.By studying overall performance of 4 NBR/PVC/OMMT composites,the best kind was 1#OMMT.And we studied the composites with different OMMT content.when the loadings of OMMT was 3.0 phr,the tensile strength of NBR/PVC/OMMT nanocomposite improved51.17%,impact strength improved 28.49%,XRD observation confirmed the preparation of exfoliation NR/OMMT nanocomposites.In industrial pipe area,3 phr OMMT and 11 NBR could instead of 20 phr NBR,impact strength improved 5.90%,tensile strength improved 17.03%.
