In recent years, Mo(W)/S/Cu(Ag)Ag clusters and the Ag complexes have been particularly focused for the diversity of the skeleton, the application in catalytic processes and so on. With the in-depth study of the Mo(W)/S/Cu(Ag) clusters, the un-replaceable effect on the photon communication, optical signal process and the protection for the photosensitive optics instruments were revealed for their excellent optical limiting and NLO properties. With the intention of synthesizing a series of novel Mo(W)/S/Cu(Ag) clusters and Ag complexes coordinated with N- and P-containing ligands the main tasks have been accomplished as follow:1.Through the choice of the solvents, the control of the reacting time and the sequence of adding the materials we successfully synthesized five original clusters employing the dppm, metal salts and [MS4]2- as materials, [WS4Ag3I(dppm)2](l), [WS4Ag4(SCN)2(dppm)4]·H2O(2),[WS4Cu4(SCN)2 (dppm)3]·3DMF·2CH3CN(3), [MoS4Cu4(SCN)2 (dppm)3]·4DMF(4), [(WS4)2Ag4 (dppm)3]·2DMF (5), of which clusters 1 and 2 have the novel skeletons beyond the 14 fundamental ones.2.A series of ID and zero dimension complexes, [Ag4(SCN)4(dppm)2](6), [Ag4(NO3)4(PPh3)4(AMP)2](7), [Ag4(Ac)4(PPh3)4(AMP)2](Ac= CH3COO ) (8), {[Ag(OTf)(PPh3)(BiPy)]}(OTf= CF3SO3) (9),[Ag2(PPh3)2(H2biim)2](BF4)2(10), [Ag2(PPh3)4(AMP)2(SO4)]·2MeOH(11),[Ag2(PPh3)2(APy)2X2] (X= NO3,12;Ac, 13), [Ag4(dppm)2(Ac)4]·2H2O(14),[Ag(PPh3)3(ClO4)](15), [Ag(PPh3)2(ClO4) (MeOH)](16),[Ag(PPh3)2(Ac)]·MeOH (17) were also synthesized using PPh3 and dppm as phosph-containing ligands and the AMP, BiPy, H2biim and APy as nitrogen-containing ligands.The general compositions of these complexes were confirmed by elemental analysis(C, H, N). The crystal structures were determined by X-ray diffraction and further characterization were employed by IR and fluorescence spectra.
