Based on their novel structure, fluorescence, magnetic properties and catalytic properties, polynuclear heterometal complexes have good application prospect in both advanced material and catalytic field. As a result, the design and synthesis of suitable organic ligand to construct peculiar functional polynuclear complexes with novel structure is one of the hottest research field in modern coordination chemistry. Amide type ligands as well as their rare earth complexes have pleasing structures and excellent fluorescence properties, meanwhile schiff base ligands and their transition metal complexes synthesis can be get easily, the design and synthesis new type of amides salen- like ligands and their transition- rare earth metals complexes with unique properties and study the correlation between the structure and properties still remain challenge, which play a crucial role on preparing molecular materials with potential application. We have synthesized and designed two amides salen- like type ligands and both of their monometal and heterometallic-polynuclear complexes. All the complexes were have been characterized by many analytical techniques. Structure, luminescence and magnetic properties of these polynuclear complexes were investigated and discussed. This thesis is divided into four parts:1. We introduced the application of polynuclear complexes and the background research objective and significance of this work in this part.2. The synthesis, structures and magnetic properties of single metal complexes were described.3. Series of hetero-polynuclear complexes are synthesized and the single crystal structure, fluorescence properties and magnetic properties are studied.4. Conclusion and remarks: Based on the study of the structure, luminescent and magnetic properties of transition-rare earth heterometallic-polynuclear complexes constructed by this kind of multidentate ligand, we present herein the valuable basic experimental data for preparing of heterometallic-polynuclear complexes and explorating potential application. The results of this paper have guide significance for the study on structure-function relationship of heterometallic polynuclear complexes.
