Due to their relationship with the organisms,the unique chemical and special molecules magnetic properties,the interesting Alkanolamine Schiff base metal complexes,currently has become a research hot spot.The transition metal ions,rare earth ions Schiff base metal chelate, which contains N and O atoms with strong coordination ability,was found application in the fields of catalysis,electrochemistry,molecular magnetism.Recently,mutil-metal Schiff base complexes,similar to some metalloproteins and enzymes,which can be used in the research of life process and mechanism as model compounds,were reported.In biosystem to was to form with the iron structure of the nature of such areas at similar Alkanolamine Schiff base metal complexes are found in the research of magnetism.Iron as an important transition metal,with the electron configuration of,3d~64s~2,is easy to lose three electronics.With 3d~5 electron configuration,multi-core of Alkanolamine Schiff base Fe(Ⅲ) complexes with strong electromagnetic coupling may be single molecular magnets.Molecular magnetism is an advanced field encompassing physics,chemistry,biology and material science and its primary study focus on the syntheses of useful material and the establishment of correlative theory that can guide the synthesis.This dissertation focuses on the synthesis of novel Fe-complex system,the relationship between magnetism and molecular structure,controlled synthesis of bridged complex in the exist of second ligands and its magnetism.In view of the difficulty for getting Schiff base crystals, based on experiments,through the deliberate attempt,diffusion method was developed to Second time diffusion method,which was used in the synthesis of multi-core iron complexes.It was proved to be effective,simple and accurate.12 iron multi-core complexes were gained.1 By condensation o-Vanillin ethanolamine and o-arninophenol,we get ligands H2L1,H2L2 (see attached diagram),its structure were verified through infrared and mass spectrometry.Compl exes 1-5 were synthesized.Through X-ray diffraction,infrared spectrometry we characterized its structures.Complexes 1 with dinuclear iron Clusters complexes 2 and 4 with trinuclear iron Clu sters,Complexes 3with six-nuclear Fe(Ⅲ) cluster,complexes 5 with a planar molecular structure of dinuclear iron clusters.Complexes 1 and 4 filled the space in two-dimensional network struct ure with holes,while intermolecular hydrogen bonds links molecular.Through hydrogen bonds Complexes 3 form three-dimensional structure in space,Complexes 5 form two-dimensional stru cture with hydrogen bonding.With chiral reagents Schiff base H2L3,H2L4,H2L5,sodium acetate,sodium azide,2-picoli nie acid were added to control the synthesis of complexes 6-10.Through X-ray diffraction and in frared spectrometry,it is verified that acetate has been involved in enantiomers 6 and 7;in compl exes 8 there were azides;while 2-picolinate in Complexes 10;the Complexes 9 with quad-core iron as the center,which depends on the force of aromatic ringπ-πto form a two-dimensional su rface structure,Complexes 6,7,8,10 depending on inter-molecular hydrogen bonding to construct a three-dimensional structure.Dinuclear iron symmetrical Clusters complexes 11 and an acetate involved trinuclear iron Clusters complexes 12 were obtained through 2,6-diformacylparacresol and bis-Schiff base H2L 6.By the means of X-ray diffraction,infrared spectrum,the struture have been determined.The re is no strong intermolecular force,while complexes 12 connect by the intermolecular hydrogen bond.4.In the complexes 1-12,Schiff base ligands provide three tridentate coordinates as chelatin g agent,the ligand hydroxyl oxygen atom bridge Fe(Ⅲ) ions.There is no central atom in dinucle ar iron complexes 1,4,5,however,there are methyl alcohol oxygen as the center for trinuclear ir on Cluster complexes 2 and 8,sodiumion ion with positive charge as the central for six nuclear v ehicle annular,Fe(Ⅲ) ion as centre for the three wind wheel complexes 3,the characteristics of S ciff Base complexes is the iron cluster.We chose representative structures to do some magnetism research.Finally the result indicates that the complexes 1&9 is single molecular magnet,and the rest are antiferromagnets.
