The interactions of transitional metal complexes with DNA have been widely studied in the field of life science during the past decades for their potential utilities in the development of anticancer agents.In these complexes, The chiral amino alcohols Schiff base and its transitional complexes have received considerable attention due to the wide variety of biological activities. Schiff base and its complexes based on chiral amino alcohol may have higher biological activity.In order to screening high efficient, low toxic anticancer drug, design, synthesis and CT-DNA(or BSA)binding studies of 12 kinds of transitional metal complexes with Schiff bases containing chiral amino alcohol are disccused in this paper. The structures are characterized by IR, UV, elemental analysis, NMR, ESI-MS and Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses.The main work are as following:First, an overview of transitional metal complexes with Schiff bases research progress and the study of chiral amino alcohols Schiff base status quo.Second, the synthesis of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthalene formaldehyde chiral amino alcohols Schiff bases, including: H2L1(condensing 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with D-phenylalanyl alcohol), H2L2(condensing 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with L-phenylalanyl alcohol), H2L3(condensing 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with(R)-(-)-2-amino-1-butanol), H2L4(condensing 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with(S)-(+)-2-amino-1-butanol), Four transition metal complexes are obtained by the reaction of the ligands with metal irons, Interaction between these complexes with CT-DNA, BSA has been studied.Third, the synthesis of 5-Chlorosalicylaldehyde chiral amino alcohols Schiff bases, including: H2L1(condensing 5-Chlorosalicylaldehyde with D-phenylalanyl alcohol), H2L2(condensing 5-Chlorosalicylaldehyde with L-phenylalanyl alcohol),H2L3(condensing 5-Chlorosalicylaldehyde with(R)-(-)-2-amino-1-butanol), H2L4(condensing 5-Chlorosalicylaldehyde with(S)-(+)-2-amino-1-butanol), Four transition metal complexes are obtained by the reaction of the ligands with metal irons, Interaction between these complexes with CT-DNA,BSA has been studied.Four, the synthesis of o-vanillin chiral amino alcohols Schiff bases, including: H2L1(condensing o-vanillin with D-phenylalanyl alcohol), H2L2(condensing o-vanillin with L-phenylalanyl alcohol), H2L3(condensing o-vanillin with D-Plenylglycinol), H2L4(condensing o-vanillin with L-Plenylglycinol), Four transition metal complexes are obtained by the reaction of the ligands with metal irons, Interaction between these complexes with CT-DNA, BSA has been studied.Five, The phenylalanyl Schiff base and its transitional complexes against cancer cell lines are determined by MTT method.
