Mesoporous ZSM-12 zeolite was prepared by dual template in-situ method, desilication in alkaline medium and zeolite as silica source method. The structure and acidity of the samples were characterized by XRD, XRF, N2-adsorption, 27Al MAS NMR, 29Si MAS NMR, SEM, TEM, TG, FT-IR, Py-IR and NH3-TPD. Catalytic performance of mesoporous ZSM-12 zeolite in the alkylation of NAPH were investigated. The effects of different synthesising method for mesoporous ZSM-12 zeolite on their structure, acidity and catalytic properties were also investigated.ZSM-12 zeolite was in-situ method by using nanosized-carbon particles, which contain micro- and mesoporosity; ZSM-12 zeolite generated a secondary pore by using the alkaline-treated; the ZSM-12/MCM-41 composite molecular sieve was successfully synthesized by zeolite as silica source method, realizing the development of both micro- and mesoporosity of two series materials. The three different synthesising methods for mesoporous ZSM-12 zeolite enhanced acidity and catalytic properties and selectivity to 2,6-DMN.
