Acrylic paint has been widely applied in coatings industry due to its excellent property of film forming, mechanical properties, chemical stability etc., make it as an rapid development high-grade paint over the past few decades. But it has some disadvantages such as poor water resistance, dirt resistance, solvent resistance. Fluorine and silicone modified resins have excellent low surface energy, excellent high and low temperature resistance, so it can make an high performance using fluoro-silicone modified acrylate.In this paper, using TFEMA, A-151, HydroxySilicon oil, MMA, BMA as polymerization monomers, using the orthogonal test, synthesized excellent performance fluoro-silicone modified acrylate by solution polymerization and emulsion polymerization. The effects of different feeding methods, the amonunt of emulsifier, initiator, monomers on reaction conditions and film performance are discussed in detail.Using AIBN as initiator, Xylene as solvent. TFEMA, A-151, Hydroxy Silicon oil, MMA, BMA as polymerization monomers, silicone modified acrylate macromolecules was synthesized. Using this macromolecules as core, with semi-continuous feeding method and additional AIBN and TFEMA, the core-shell structure product was synthesized.The product was characterized by TEM, IR, and its film was tested by TGA, DSC, contact angle etc., the results sho v that the target product was synthesized and has an excellent performance.Emulsion polymerization has an outstanding environmental protection, which makes it had an rapid progress in recent decades. We make a further studied of the above-mentioned monomers in emulsion polymerization. Using APS as initiator, SDS and OP-10 as co-emulsifier, a particles uniformly distributed emulsion was synthesized.The emulsion and its film were tested by many methods, the results shows the product has an excellent storage stability, mechanical stability, heat resistance, cold resistance, electrolyte stability, centrifugal stability etc. The best formulation of the emulsion is TFEMA 15% (mass ratio),Organosilicone 6%, SDS 1.4%, OP-10 1.4%, APS 0.6%.The contact angle of Fluoro-silicone modified acrylate are more than 100°, shows it has an fine hydrophobic. Furthermore, the heat resistance and the rigidity of the film is better. The XPS result shows fluorine transfer to surface when forming the film, so we can using lower fluorine content make high performance modified product.
