In this thesis, the development of emulsion polymerization theory and related newtechnologies are comprehensively reviewed, and the synthetic technologies offluoro-silicone containing acrylate latexes both at home and abroad are also reviewed.Based on the current development and research in this field, attention of this study isfocused on using silane coupling agent with epoxy group and double bond to modify theacrylate latex.The major raw materials used to synthesize fluoro-silicone acrylate are3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (SCA-403), vinyltriethoxysilane (SCA-1603),1,3,5-tris(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)-1,3,5-trimethylcyclotr-isiloxa-ne(D3F) and acrylate withthe method of emulsion copolymerization reaction. By adding rare metal ion europium wecan get an illuminant applied in white LED. The effects of compound emulsifier contentand proportion, the concentration of initiator, reaction temperature and monomer contenton the emulsion copolymerization are studied through measuring the monomer conversionand the latex particle size etc. to get the optimum proportion.The infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, laser particle size analyzer,thermal analysis, transmission electron microscopy and contact angle are used tocharacterize the chemical structure and properties of the copolymer. The luminescenceproperties of Eu(III) complex-modified acrylate are characterized by PL, PL excitationspectra and PL decay curve.The results demonstrated that the fluoro-silicone modified acrylate nano-copolymer isin-deed successfully prepared using the semi-batch synthesis techniques, and it possesshigh waterproof ability and thermal-stable property. The PLE band positions of the Eu(III)complex-modified acrylate well match the radiation wavelength of near-UV and blue LED chips. The PL life time is short (0.336ms) and the asymmetry ratio is high (R=6.24). It issuggested that Eu(III) complex-MA-np is an important material for near-UV excitedw-LED nano-devices for lighting and display.
