In this paper,we faced the 16 tons front axle forging hammer production line,research and development for the heavy truck front axle pre-forming roll forging and the whole forging process.Heavy truck front axle pre-forming roll forging and the whole forging process drawing the advantages of blanking roll forging and precision roll forging,combining the advantages of large forging hammers,is a new attempt for the front axle forging process.The Pre-forming Roll Forging forming characteristics is between the blanking roll forging and precision roll forging,closer to the precision roll forging,which made the spring board andⅠ—beam rolling forging preform,theⅠ—beam basic shaped after rolling forging but left a small amount of margin,and the spring board just rolling out the wide plate butⅠ—shape not rolling out.The forging formed through the overall die at last.Pre—forming roll forging process design is further refined billets,under the premise of generating a small flash closer to hot forging press forging process of the pre—forging shape,so as to reduce the deformation force and improving the material utilization.In this article,according to a particular model of cold heavy truck front axle Forgings drawing that manufacturers provided,designed and developed three times pre-forming roll forging process for the heavy truck front axle,by numerical simulation to optimize the model design,after the final test at site qualified forgings were made at last.Based on the three timespre-formingroll forging process,we researched and developed two times pre-forming process for enterprises another type of heavy truck front axle and succeeded too.Comparing to the original heavy truck front axle production process,the pre-forming roll forging process(3 times or 2 times)has obvious economic and technological superiority.Under the precondition of improving the forgings quality,the subject of the development has achieved the intended purpose that not only improving the efficiency but also saving the energy and materials.
