An important product 2-(2-pentyl-lH-benzimidazole-l-yl)Acetohydrazide was synthesized using n- hexanol by the preparing of Hexanoic acid,2-pentyl-lH-benzimidazole and ethyl (2-pentyl-1H-benzimidazole-1-yl)acetate. The products were characterized by spectrum of IR,1HNMR, MS and so on.Effect of the reaction temperature, reaction time, material ratio, types and dosage of catalyst on the reaction was studied mainly through single factor experiment. The optimum reaction conditions were obtained. The yield of Hexanoic acid was 46% when the mole ratio of cobalt acetate and n-hexanol was 0.02:1, the atom mole ratio of cobalt and bromine was 2.5:1, the oxygen flow rate was 0.02m3/h, reaction temperature was 105℃and reaction time was 6.5h. The yield of 2-pentyl-lH-benzimidazole was 88% when the mole ratio of material was 1.2:1, the dosage of acid was 10:1, reaction temperature was 210℃and reaction time was 17h. When the mole ratio of material was 1.3:1, reaction temperature was 70℃and reaction time was 50h, the yield of ethyl(2-pentyl-1H-benzimidazole-1-yl)acetate was 91%. Finally,2-(2-pentyl-lH-benzimidazole-1-yl)Acetohydrazide was obtained and the yield was 92%, when the mole ratio of material was 2:1, reaction temperature was 90℃and reaction time was 8h.
