High-strength and corrosion-resistant composite is a non-metallic wear-resistant protective coating. It was mainly used for the protection of mechanical equipments that operate in liquid media. These mechanical equipments are abraded by high velocity flow and complex mixture of silt and medium. This cause a serious loss. Contrasting the protecting of stream unit in China and abroad, high hardness, gas etching-resistant, and desquamate early days in the water are a weak point. All of those do not meet the users' requirements. There is no formal product in China and abroad now. The protection method is still to use the demand stainless steel multiple layer process. Our research purpose is to resolve those problems.According to modification methods of epoxy resins and abrasion studies of polymer composites, we designed and developed a high strength corrosion-resistant composite which includes two products:abrasion and corrosion-resistant elastomer, and high strength abrasion and corrosion-resistant adhesive. We use monolayer or multilayer technology to protect the abrasion of mechanical equipments using in water. The abrasion and corrosion-resistant elastomer is a novel polyurethane elastomer that has good flexibility and gas etching-resistant properties, etc. It can be used for surface coating and other application fields. The high strength abrasion and corrosion-resistant adhesive can be used for the understratum of coatings. It can also be a special trademark used on the atmosphere as well.Our article contains three parts:synthesis of abrasion and corrosion-resistant elastomer and its'solidified technology, synthesis of the high strength abrasion and corrosion-resistant adhesive and its'solidified technology, and application studies.For abrasion and corrosion-resistant elastomer, we choose some liquid rubbers that have different molecule weights and different nitrile-group values, and determine the ratio of monomer and solvent variety to research the solidified condition and solidified system, and then developed a novel polyurethane elastomer. This product is tested by 43 Institute in China and successful used in a missile. Its mechanical property meets the contract requirements. For abrasion and corrosion-resistant elastomer adhesive, we choose some liquid rubbers that have different molecule weights and different nitrile-group values and different epoxy resins, and determine the ratio of the monomer, the synthetic condition, and the vairty of fillings. We research the solidified system and condition, and find that the optimized ratio that HTPB performed polymer to HNPB performed polymer is 15-30/85-70 to formed composite. This composite reacts with epoxy resin composite by a ratio at formulate temperature, and then high strength abrasion and corrosion-resistant adhesive is obtained. The assistant, filling, and compositional curing agent D are mixed with obtained adhesive. Subsequently, the mixture is solidified for 72 hours at room temperature. The high strength abrasion and corrosion-resistant material is obtained. Its industrial-scale product is tested by water turbine test center in Tianjin. Its mechanical property is content to the contract requirements. Two products were used in water special turntable as simulation to demonstrate that our products have gas etching-resistant, water-resistant, abrasion and corrosion-resistant properties. Especially, those properties are overmatch or equal to ones in stainless steel. After industrial-scale product of high strength and abrasion and corrosion-resistant composite is painted as the monolayer or multilayer, and tested by many painting trails in water turbine, it demonstrates that this product has excellent application effect.
