Near-critical water (NCW) is usually referred to hot compressed water in the range of 200-350℃. It has a strong tendency to ionize and can act as an acid and/or base catalyst. So we can make some acid-base catalysis reaction without acid-base catalyst in NCW, so as to avoid the processes about acid-base neutralization and salt disposal. Because of the characteristics of dissolving organic and inorganic substances simultaneously, NCW can be used to replace the organic solvents which may be toxic or hazardous. And it also acts as the solvent and the catalyst in the reaction.The first part of this paper studied the synthesis of organic and polymer reactions in near-critical water.The hydrolysis of the Chinese prickly ash seed oil and the tung oil in the critical water were investigated. Mixed fatty acid was synthesized in the absence of acid-base catalyst. Response surface methodology was used to optimization of the conditions. The craft was searched with the acid value. Then according to the Box-Benhnken center united experimental design principles, the experimental was designed and the results were analyzed. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimization of the combined effects of reaction of the temperature, time and water-oil ratio, and then the optimum process conditions were studied.The synthesis of environmental friendly phenolic resin adhesive in near-critical water was studied. And the viscosity, density, bonding strength, water resistance and other properties of the adhesive were tested. The viscosity was used as an index:the combined effects of time, temperature and glucose-resorcinol ratio were investigated and optimized using RSM. Then according to the Box-Benhnken center united experimental design principles based on the single factor tests, the method of response surface analysis with 3 factors and 3 levels were adopted. The regression equation on factors influencing of the parameters was established. In addition, response surface graph and contour graph with the conversion rate were obtained. And then the optimum synthesis conditions about the environmental friendly phenolic resin Adhesive was obtained.The second part of this paper studied the formulation of furan-formaldehyde resin for casting and the process optimization.Using furfural instead of part of furfuralcohol, a novel furan resin was synthesized. The cost of the materials reduced to a certain extent. And then the performance indicators of the novel furan resin were tested, and the results met the requirements of production applications.
