Due to the diversity of topology, unusual magnetic and photophysical propertity of lanthanide complexes, there is increasingly a special interest on them in decades. Because of the potential application in luminescence, magnetic, electrochemistry and catalyst, the coordination of complexes with ligands of Salen class have been studied extensively. Recently, the application of inlanthanide complexes in materials science, especially in the near infrared region, there is increasing a great interest forces on complexes of trivalent lanthanide complexes (Ln=Pr3+, Nd3+, Er3+ and Yb3+).Schiff base ligand (H2L= N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-o-phenylenediamine) and 22 kinds of metallid Schiff base complexes have been synthesized in this paper. The complexes have been characterized by Elemental analyses, Thermal gravimetric, XRD, Infrared(IR), Ultraviolet-Visible(UV).5 kinds of single crystal of complexes have been developed by diffusion and have been structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray crysrallographic analysis, they are complexes of 3,10,18,21 and 22.The composition of lanthanide nitrate complexes accorde with [Ln3(L3)(CH3OH)2(NO3)3]·(CH2Cl2)·1.5(CH3OH)·(H2O) [Ln=La(1), Pr(2), Sm(4), Eu(5), Gd(6), Tb(7), Dy(8), Er(9), Yb(10), Lu(11)]. The composition of lanthanide acetic complexes accorde with [Ln2(L)3(CH3OH)]·0.5H2O [Ln=La(12), Ce(13), Nd(14), Sm(15), Eu(16), Gd(17), Yb(18), Er(19)]. The composition of Zn-Ln heterobimetallic complexes accorde with [Ln(ZnL)2(NO3)3(CH3OH)]·CH3OH·CH2Cl2 [Ln=Nd(20), Er(21), Yb(22)]. The composition of nitrate neodymium complex accorde with [NdL'2(NO3)4L']2·(CH3OH)2·H2O (3). The complex 10 is "3+3" sandwich structure. The complexes 18 is "3+2" sandwich structure. The complex 21 and 22 are 0-dimensional monomolecular structure. The complex 3 are 0-dimensional monomolecular structure.The Near infrared (NIR) luminescence analysis show that the luminescence of complexes 10,18 and 22 are metal-centered emission, complexes 10 and 18 both have two lifetimes which belong to microsecond. Conductivity measurements show that complexes behaved as electrolytes in MeOH and MeCN.
