This paper mainly focuses on a series of compounds of 3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-ol sodium to investigate their synthesis. Four compounds and one important intermediate of this series are chosen as follows:herbicide triclopyr (chemical name as [(3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-yl) oxy]ethanoicacid), triclopyr-butotyl (chemical name as 2-butox yethyl-2-(3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-yl)oxyacetate), insecticide chlorpyrifos-methyl (chemical name as O,O-dimethyl O-3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-yl phosphorothioate), chlor pyrifos (chemical name as O,O-diethyl O-3,5,6-trichlo ropyridin-2-yl phosphorothioate), intermediate 3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-ol sodium. The optimum routes have been obtained through comparing different synthesized methods. The optimum conditions were acquired through orthogonal experiments. The optimum technological parameters, such as reactant proportion, solvent, catalyst, reacting temperature, reacting time, etc., have also been obtained. The chemical structures and purity of four products and one intermediate were confirmed by IR, HNMR, MS, HPLC and GC.
