The hybrid-driven mechanical press in this thesis is an improved mechanical press based on 2-DOF seven bar mechanism. It combines the motion via a 2-DOF seven bar mechanism. It is driven by a constant speed motor and a servo motor. The former provides the main power and motion required, while the latter acts as a motion modulation device.This kind of mechanical system not only has advantages of classical mechanical system, but also is controllable and has great flexibility. Therefore, the hybrid-driven linkage can provide for programmable motion output to meet requirements of different products different materials. The choice of selecting a suitable type of mechanism is very critical to the hybrid-driven.So the relative merits of the 2-DOF multi-bar mechanism that can be used in hybrid-driven mechanical press are reviewed. The kinematic chain type of the seven-bar mechanism was deduced base on the type of kinematic chain of the six-bar mechanism and the appropriate configuration was chosen. The existence conditions of two and three crank in this configuration was analyzed.The analysis of singularity and mobility condition of a new two-DOF hybrid-driven mechanism is presented. On the base of this, the forward and reverse resolutions of kinematics are calculated by using the close vector means in the opposite drive mode of servo motor.The motor power was calculated when the inertia force was ignored. On the basis of the kinematical analysis, the equations of two crank's balance moment are studied considering the inertia of links. Then, the dynamical model for the hybrid-driven controllable press is developed using Lagrange's formulation.Angular displacement of the servo motor was calculated when drawing and coining. And the analysis of interplay between the processconditions and the kind of drive mode was given. In order to realize the flexible output of the slider, the optimum design of the hybrid-driven press for drawing is carried out.At last, kinematical and dynamical simulation analysis was worked out by using software ADAMS. The corresponding numerical examples are also given to validate resolutions. The input displacement of the servo motor was given on the base of kinematical simulation. The impact of working stroke to maximum of servo motor power was also analyzed.
