Now corrosion inhibitors develop to be low toxic and friendly to environment. The corrosion velocity and corrosion inhibition efficiency of many kinds of compound for carbon steel in 1 mol·L-1 hydrochloric acid was studied using the classical method of weight loss, then some kinds of compounds with certain corrosion inhibition effect have been got in 1M hydrochloric acid solution. On the basis of a lot of experiment and literature referred to Schiff bases show more inhibition efficiency.Schiff bases are nontoxic corrosion inhibitor. The research into the effect of their inhibition efficiency and synergism is rarely reported on steel in hydrochloric acid. In this Paper, four series Schiff bases compounds have been synthesized and characterized by IR and 1HHMR. We discussed the corrosion inhibition ability of Schiff bases to A3 carbon steel in HCl with weight loss method. The Schiff bases corrosion inhibition efficiency in this paper is 86.2%,91.7%,43.3%,79.5%。And then we used electrochemical technique to study Schiff bases 1,11 which have high efficiency. The corrosion morphologies were characterized by SEM.The synergistic effects of them were also studied through electrochemical technique methods mentioned above. Some results obtained from the experiments were given in the thesis. The inhibition efficiency increase after the match Schiff bases with KI, and the maximum value of corrosion efficiency achieves 90%.The study proves that:Compare with the traditional synthetic resin, Schiff bases inhibitors is simple to synthesize, high productivity and has no pollution to environment. As a secure and nontoxic inhibitor, complex of Schiff bases and KI has a good synergistic effect. It is likely to replace the traditional corrosion inhibitor that is poisonous in hydrochloric acid. Some parameters obtained from the experiment will provide.
