Eighteen novel lactate lanthanide(Ⅲ) complexes were synthesized by using ionizing method with sodium lactate and nitrate/chloride lanthanide(Ⅲ) in this paper. Element analysis, TG analysis, IR and XRD spectra were carried out. Through the data derived from XRD spectra, these complexes were classified into three categories. CategoryⅠis the coordination of La(Ⅲ), CategoryⅡis the coordination of Pr(Ⅲ), Sm(Ⅲ), Eu(Ⅲ), Gd(Ⅲ), CategoryⅢis the coordination of Tb(Ⅲ), Dy(Ⅲ), Er(Ⅲ), Lu(Ⅲ).Crystals were grew by using the solution diffusing methods, and the structure of two complexes in categoryⅡ, the coordination of Sm(Ⅲ) and Eu(Ⅲ), were obtained. The structure can be defined as [LnNa(lactate)4]n [Ln=Sm(3); Eu(4)], which are novel 3D structures with 1D channel. In these complexes, two Ln(Ⅲ) and two Na(Ⅰ) were connected by four lactate molecules into a parallelogram four-member ring in the ab plane. Then these rings were also extended by lactate molecules into a tube with 1D channel in the c axis. The neighboring four tubes encircle another channel with Van del Waals Force. The Ln(Ⅲ) ions of these complexes are coordinated by eight oxygen atoms of four lactates, adopting a trigondodecahedron coordination geometry. Besides, through Element analysis, TG analysis and IR spectrum, the structure of other complexes had been inferred. The fluorescent spectra of the complexes of Eu(Ⅲ), Tb(Ⅲ) and Sm(Ⅲ), were performed, which have excellent characteristic peak of lanthanide(Ⅲ) ions.
