Eyelet buttonhole sewing machine is a special industrial equipment, and it was used to sew different kind of buttonholes. Because of the complexity of system structure, too many electrical devices needed to control, the products of eyelet buttonhole sewing machine in the market is mainly come from abroad such as Germany, Japan and the United States. Controller is the core part of eyelet buttonhole sewing machine, therefore it is necessary to study deply.This thesis investigates the problems of Eyelet Buttonhole sewing machine such as functional characteristics, system structure, control program, man-machine interface, the servo control system hardware and software. On analyzing characteristics and system architecture of the eyelet buttonhole machine, we select the brushless DC motor as the spindle motor and select the two-phase hybrid stepping motor as the X, Y, Z axis driver motors. And also it introduced in detailed on structure and working principle of the brushless DC motor and two-phase hybrid stepping motor.The requirements of eyelet buttonhole machine were fast response, need to control many electrical devices such as motors and solenoid valves, and so on. Aim at these requirements, we use two LPC2138 chip as the core part of servo control system, one of the ARM chips was used to control the spindle motor and solenoid valve, and the other was used to control three stepper motors. In this thesis, using the intelligent power modules PS21865 that produced by Mitsubishi, as the core of brushless DC motor drive circuit. Also we have designed a stepping motor drive circuit, solenoid valve drive circuit and CPLD logic modules and other hardware, to achieve a simple, low cost, reliable, and efficient hardware system of eyelet buttonhole sewing machine.Since the parameters and types of shapes that crated by trace of the buttonhole line are many, we have created a group of parameters via analyzing their public features. And that favor users set a buttonhole shape parameter and beneficial to the system control the electrical devices. Based on the hardware, system software has designed each functional and driver modules. And the software has met the technical requirements of eyelet buttonhole sewing machine. Brushless DC motor speed loop use fuzzy-PI control algorithm to ensure stability of speed; and position brake use BangBang control algorithm to ensure the rapidity of brake and accuracy of position.After a long run test, the controller basic met system indicators of the eyelet buttonhole sewing machine, and has a very good practical application.
